HOW TO BEGIN

TREATING ECZEMA VIA HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE

I rarely take clients off steroids for the first three months. This is because homeopathy steers health, and often, underneath the first prescription, the gut is affected.

I may begin with one of homeopathy's 12 gut nosodes.. These will clear the gut of antibiotics and some steroid suppression. It is safe, gentle and effective in its form of clearing as are most homeopathic remedies.

It is not the overnight fix we all dream of with eczema, its needs patience. Avoiding more antibiotics or strep and staph infection is of course key.

Gently, homeopathy will clear eczema, but even in children it will take time. It's not unusual for the skin to take 18 months to two years to resolve permanently during which time the immune system will become strong. Allergies may resolve. Patience and understanding of the process is key. Parents or patients need to understand from me, why eczema skin is approached carefully with gentle homeopathy.

THIS LTTLE CHAP TOOK 6 MONTHS TO RESOLVE HIS SKIN

This baby took three prescriptions.

With the creams and lotions, I may ask you to order a couple of plastic pots with lids to mix in a more natural cream. Balmond's (dry skin,) Calendula (there are forms without almond oil for those with nut allergies.) There are others, and certainly most sufferers have been through a huge amount in order to treat the skin.

Creams and lotions may soothe, while those containing steroids will suppress, not resolve and there will usually be rebound flares when you decide to give them a break. By weaning off the steroids this can be avoided.

Babies and children are easier to treat but still need careful case-taking and support between prescriptions. I follow up my patient's two to three monthly,

THIS LITTLE ONE TOOK 18 MONTHS.

Dermovate was used and is a high strength steroid. The stronger the steroid the deeper the damage to the gut in the sense of suppression.

At puberty, eczema is much more difficult, especially if it has been since they were babies and there's been a huge amount of suppression and a rise in potency of steroids advised by GPs and even dermatologists.

I see topical steroid withdrawal where eventually the steroids stop working and then immune system modulators such as Dupixent are given.
